Griffin Landry Appointed as President – Friends of the Capitol Park Museum
Dear Friends of Capitol Park Museum Members and Partners,
We are excited to share an important update with you! As of November 1, 2024, we have officially appointed Griffin Landry as the new President of the Friends of Capitol Park Museum. Griffin has been an integral part of our organization since 2022, serving as Vice President of Administration for the past year, and we are thrilled to see him step into this leadership role.
Griffin is known for his passion for community engagement and nonprofit & business operations, and his vision for the Friends is to continue building on our success. He has already been instrumental in expanding our reach, growing partnerships, and launching new initiatives like our upcoming education conferences and membership campaigns. As the youngest President in the Louisiana State Museum (LSM) system’s history, and leading the Friends group of the largest museum in the LSM system, Griffin brings fresh energy and innovative ideas that will help guide the Friends into an exciting new chapter.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Chenese Lewis, who has served as our President with exceptional dedication and leadership.
During her term, Chenese made incredible strides, leading the Friends through milestones such as:
Completing the organization’s first annual report, Establishing key community partnerships that continue to flourish, Organizing our first board retreat and board dinner, Revamping the bylaws and launching a new website and newsletter, Establishing the Education Committee and ensuring our structure is stronger than ever.
Chenese will remain involved as the Immediate Past President and Ambassador, continuing to provide invaluable insights and guidance to our board and membership. Her legacy of leadership has laid the foundation for our future growth, and we cannot thank her enough for her remarkable contributions.
